All Power Windows Inoperative
- Fuse Check
- Ensure ignition is off. Check POWER WINDOW (30-amp) fuse. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay,go to step 4).
- System Check
- Turn ignition off. Replace POWER WINDOW fuse. If fuse repeatedly blows, go to next step. If fuse does not blow, go to step 4).
- Circuit Check
- Turn ignition off. Locate and unplug 6-pin interior fuse junction panel connector. Access and unplug master power window switch connector. Measure resistance between Black/White wire at interior fuse junction panel connector and ground. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, Repair Black/White wire.
- Ground Check
- Turn ignition off. Unplug power window master switch connector. See Fig 1
and Fig 2
. Measure resistance between Black wire at power window master switch connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Retest system.
- Power Window Master Switch Check
- Perform master switch test. See MASTER SWITCH
under COMPONENT TESTING. If master switch is good, repair Black/White wire between interior fuse junction panel and power window master switch. If master switch is faulty, replace switch and retest system.
