Remote Keyless Entry System

The optional remote keyless entry system uses a remote transmitter to lock or unlock both doors by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK button. By pressing the PANIC button on the transmitter, a panic alarm system may also be activated. When the panic alarm is activated, the hazard lights flash and the horn sounds intermittently for 3 minutes. To deactivate the panic alarm system, press the panic button a second time. The system may also be deactivated by turning the ignition switch to the ON or START position.

The remote keyless entry system consists of a remote transmitter, Remote Entry Module (REM), located in the right rear quarter panel, and an antenna located within the rear light wiring harness.
