Door Lock System Does Not Operate

  1. Turn ignition off. Inspect ROOM (15-amp) and METER (15-amp) fuses located in interior fuse box. If fuses are okay, go to step 4). If either fuse is blown, go to next step.
  2. Replace blown fuse(s). Turn ignition on. If fuse(s) fail again, go to next step. If fuses are okay, go to step 4).
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect REM connector and interior fuse panel connector C2. See Fig 1 . Measure resistance between Blue/Red wire at interior fuse panel C2 connector and ground. Measure resistance between Black/Yellow wire at interior fuse panel C2 connector and ground. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair wire(s) in question. If resistances are more than 5 ohms, replace fuse(s) and go to next step.

  4. Reconnect interior fuse panel wiring. Program transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If system responds correctly, retest for symptoms. If system does not respond correctly, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Replace transmitter batteries. Turn ignition on. Program transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If system responds correctly, transmitter is okay. Retest for symptoms. If system does not respond correctly, go to next step.
  6. Replace transmitter with a known working unit. Turn ignition on. Program transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If system responds correctly, replace original transmitter. If system does not respond correctly, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition off. Disconnect REM connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Blue/Red and Black/Yellow wires at connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open wire(s) in question.
  8. Leave ignition off and REM connector disconnected. Measure resistance of Black wire between connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, temporarily substitute known-good REM and retest system. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
