Quick Test: Notes

The following procedures are parts of the QUICK TEST. These basic test steps must be followed in sequence to avoid misdiagnosis:

• Perform visual check. See ENTERING SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
• Perform equipment hookup. See EQUIPMENT HOOKUP.
• KEY ON ENGINE OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST.
• KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) SELF-TEST.
• CONTINUOUS MEMORY SELF-TEST.
• SWITCH MONITOR TEST (If necessary).
• Check Parameter Identification (PID) values.

After each service or repair procedure has been completed, clear DTCs and repeat QUICK TEST to ensure all EEC systems are working properly and diagnostic trouble codes are no longer present.
