Test G: Pats Module Does Not Respond To Scan Tool

  1. Check PATS Connector

Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module connector. PATS module is located behind integrated control panel. Inspect PATS module and harness connector terminals. If terminals are okay, go to next step. Repair any damaged terminals. Restore all electrical connections and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  to confirm repair.
  2. Check Circuits No. 914 & 915 Between DLC & PATS Module

Measure resistance between DLC terminal No. 2 and PATS module harness connector terminal No. 6 (Tan/Orange wire). See Figure . Measure resistance between DLC terminal No. 5 and PATS module harness connector terminal No. 10 (Pink/Light Blue wire). If both resistance measurements are less than 5 ohms, replace PATS module. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  to confirm repair. If either resistance measurement is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Tan/Orange or Pink/Light Blue wire between DLC and PATS module connector. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  to confirm repair.
