Test J: Rap Module Does Not Respond To Scan Tool
- Check RAP Module Connector
Turn ignition off. Disconnect Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module connector C253 (26-terminal connector). RAP module is located behind integrated control panel. Inspect connector C253 terminals. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step. Repair any damaged terminals. Restore all electrical connections and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS
to confirm repair.
- Check Circuit No. 70 Between DLC & Connector C214
Disconnect harness connector C214 (Black 38-terminal connector on left side of instrument panel). Measure resistance of circuit No. 70. (Light Blue/White wire) between DLC terminal No. 7 and harness connector C214. See Figure
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If Resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Light Blue/White wire between DLC and harness connector C214. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS
to confirm repair.
- Check Connector C214
Inspect harness connector C214 terminals for damage. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step. Repair any damaged terminals. Restore all electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS
to confirm repair.
- Check Circuit No. 70 Between RAP Module and Connector C214
Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of circuit No. 70 (Light Blue/White wire) between RAP module harness connector and harness connector C214. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RAP module. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS
to confirm repair. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Light Blue/White wire between harness connector C214 and RAP module harness connector. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS
to confirm repair.
