Test A: Data Link Diagnostic Test

  1. Test Data Link

    Perform data link diagnostic network testing procedure. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS. If results displayed are CKT914=SYSTEM PASSED, CKT915=SYSTEM PASSED for J1850 network or CKT70=PASSED for ISO 9141 communication link, system is okay at this time. If results does not indicate CKT914=SYSTEM PASSED, CKT915=SYSTEM PASSED for J1850 network or CKT70=PASSED for ISO 9141 communication link, go to next step.
  2. Test Results Circuit No. 70

    If DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test results indicate CKT70=00000000F (or CKT70=00000001F for SHO), go to TEST C. If any other results is displayed, go to next step.
  3. Test Results Circuits No. 914 & 915

    If DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test results indicate CKT914=000000007 and CKT915=000000007, go to TEST B. If any other results is displayed, go to next step.
  4. Test Results No Response

    If DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test results indicates NO RESPONSE from one or more modules, a fault exists. See FAILED MODULE TEST REFERENCE table to find correct test to perform. If NO RESPONSE is not indicated, system is okay. See DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE SEQUENCE  for the next step to follow.

(1) Optional module. If vehicle is not equipped with this module no action is required.
