Test D: Abs Module Does Not Respond To Scan Tool

Check ABS Module Connector

Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector. ABS control module is located in left front corner of engine compartment below battery. Inspect ABS harness connector terminals. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step. Repair any damaged terminals. Restore all electrical connections and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.

Check Circuit No. 70 Between DLC & C263 Or C221

Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector C263 (C221 on 3.0L 2V), located behind left side of instrument panel near headlight switch. Measure resistance of circuit No. 70. (Light Blue/White wire) between DLC terminal No. 7 and C263, terminal No. 56 (C221, terminal No. 25 on 3.0L 2V). See Figure , Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance greater than 5 ohms, repair open Light Blue/White wire between DLC and harness connector C263 (C221 on 3.0L 2V). Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.

Check Harness Connector

Inspect harness connector C263 (C221 on 3.0L 2V) for damaged terminals. If connector terminals are okay, go to next step. Repair any damaged terminals. Restore all electrical connections and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.

Check Circuit 70 To ABS Module

Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module harness connector. Measure resistance of circuit No. 70 (Light Blue/White wire) between ABS control module connector and harness connector 263, terminal No. 56 (C221, terminal No. 25 on 3.0L 2V). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ABS control module. Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Light Blue/White wire between ABS control module harness connector and harness connector C263 (C221 on 3.0L 2V). Restore electrical connections and perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS to confirm repair.
