Test M: Smart Lock Feature Does Not Operate Properly

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position, leaving key in ignition. Open driver's door. If warning chime sounds, go to next step. If warning chime does not sound, repair warning chime system. See appropriate wiring diagram in WARNING SYSTEMS article.
  2. Using driver's door lock switch, lock vehicle. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, repair power door lock system. See DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article.
  3. Disconnect Generic Electronic Module (GEM) harness connector C248. Measure voltage at terminal No. 11 (Pink/Yellow wire) at GEM harness connector C248. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Pink/Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Measure voltage at terminal No. 1 (Pink/Light Green wire) at GEM harness connector C248. If battery voltage exist, replace GEM. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Pink/Light Green wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
