Test E: Central Timer Module Does Not Respond To Scan Tool

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove and inspect fuse No. 52 (60-amp) from battery junction box. If fuse is okay, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If fuse is open, replace fuse. Check system for normal operation. If fuse fails again, check related circuits for short to ground.
  2. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) from back of central junction box. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 18 at CTM connector C23 (fuse box side). See Figure . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not greater than 10 volts, replace central junction box. Check system for normal operation.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 16 at CTM connector C23. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CTM. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, replace central junction box. Check system for normal operation.
