Test G: No Module/Network Communication - SCP Network
- Inspect NGS tester connector and terminals for damage. Repair as necessary and check system for normal operation. If NGS tester connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Inspect DLC terminals for damage. Repair as necessary and check system for normal operation. If DLC terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect in-line harness connector C3001 located at left rear side of engine compartment. Measure resistance between terminal No. 2 (Gray wire without ABS; Gray/Violet wire with ABS) at DLC and terminal No. 4 (Gray wire) at in-line harness connector C3001. See Figure
and Fig 1
. Also, measure resistance between terminal No. 10 (Blue wire without ABS; Blue/White wire with ABS) at DLC and terminal No. 12 (Blue wire) at in-line harness connector C3001. If both measurements are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If either measurement is not less than 5 ohms, repair circuit in question between in-line harness connector C3001 and DLC. Check system for normal operation.
- Reconnect in-line harness connector C3001. If vehicle is equipped with ABS, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with ABS, go to step 6
.
- Disconnect ABS control module harness connector C3002. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 (Gray/Violet wire) and No. 4 (Black wire) at DLC, and then measure voltage between terminals No. 2 (Gray/Violet wire) and No. 16 (Orange wire) at DLC. Also, measure voltage between terminals No. 10 (Blue/White wire) and No. 4 (Black wire) at DLC, and then measure voltage between terminals No. 10 (Blue/White wire) and No. 16 (Orange wire) at DLC. If any measurement indicates zero volts, go to next step. If all measurements indicate voltage, replace ABS control module. Check system for normal operation.
- If vehicle is equipped with AFCM, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with AFCM, go to step 9
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect AFCM harness connector C4001. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 (Gray wire without ABS; Gray/Violet wire with ABS) and No. 4 (Black wire) at DLC, and then measure voltage between terminals No. 2 (Gray wire without ABS; Gray/Violet wire with ABS) and No. 16 (Orange wire) at DLC. Also, measure voltage between terminals No. 10 (Blue wire without ABS; Blue/White wire with ABS) and No. 4 (Black wire) at DLC, and then measure voltage between terminals No. 10 (Blue wire without ABS; Blue/White wire with ABS) and No. 16 (Orange wire) at DLC. If any measurement indicates zero volts, go to next step. If all measurements indicate voltage, replace AFCM. Check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 2-pin in-line harness connector C4112. If all measurements indicate voltage, repair circuits in question between AFCM and 2-pin in-line harness connector C4112. Check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect PCM harness connector C421. If any measurement indicates voltage, go to next step. If all measurements indicate zero volts, check PCM. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Repair as necessary and check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect in-line harness connector C4100. If any measurement indicates voltage, go to next step. If all measurements indicate zero volts, repair circuit in question between PCM and in-line harness connector C4100. Check system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect in-line harness connector C3001.
