Manual Bleeding
CAUTION:
DO NOT allow master cylinder reservoir to run dry during bleeding procedure. Fill master cylinder with clean DOT 3 brake fluid. DO NOT reuse brake fluid that has been drained from hydraulic system.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Clean dirt from around master cylinder reservoir cap. Disconnect low fluid level warning light switch electrical connector. Remove reservoir cap and fill master cylinder reservoir with clean DOT 3 brake fluid. Connect drain hose to left front bleeder screw. Submerge other end of hose in clear container full of clean brake fluid.
- Loosen left front bleeder screw one turn. Fully depress brake pedal, and then allow pedal to return to rest position. Continue pumping brake pedal until brake fluid flow is clear and free of bubbles. Refill master cylinder reservoir as necessary.
- Fully depress brake pedal and tighten left front bleeder screw. Remove drain hose. Proceed to right rear, right front and left rear wheels in sequence. Ensure master cylinder reservoir if filled to MAX position.
