Matching Security Identification Between Instrument Cluster & PCM

  1. Using NGS tester, perform instrument cluster self-test. If DTC B2139 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2139 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time.
  2. Perform security access for instrument cluster. See KEY PROGRAMMING - SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE. Using NGS tester, select PARAMETER RESET command for instrument cluster. Using NGS tester, select PARAMETER RESET command for PCM. Turn ignition switch to RUN position for 3 seconds. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using NGS tester, perform instrument cluster self-test. If DTC B2139 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time. If DTC B2139 is retrieved, verify PCM calibration is correct for vehicle. If calibration is okay, replace instrument cluster and repeat this test. If DTC B2139 still exists, replace PCM.
