Test C: No Communication With Instrument Cluster

NOTE: Turn ignition switch from OFF to ON position to enable system power feature.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster 22-pin harness connector C239, and 20-pin harness connector C240. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between specified harness connector terminals and ground. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER VOLTAGE  table. If all readings are 10 volts or more, go to next step. If any reading is less than 10 volts, repair power supply circuit(s).
    INSTRUMENT CLUSTER VOLTAGE

Connector Terminal No. Circuit No. (Wire Color)
    C239 11 1001 (WHT/YEL)
    C240 7 295 (LT BLU/PNK)
    C240 8 1112 (WHT/LT BLU)
    C240 9 1112 (WHT/LT BLU)
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between instrument cluster harness connector C240 terminal No. 12 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
