Intermittent Failures: Notes
Three procedures are used to identify intermittent conditions. First is determining repeatability of DTCs at beginning of each diagnostic test. This can help eliminate unnecessary testing. Second is performing drive tests to discern problems in components and wiring by operating at a range of temperatures and vibration conditions, which can help repeat indicated problem. See DRIVE CYCLE TEST . Third is a wiggle test of wiring and connections to determine loose or damaged connections.
