Clutch System: Bleeding
- Top off brake master cylinder. Locate bleeder screw under transaxle access hole dust cover. Loosen bleeder screw. Attach hose to bleeder screw at clutch slave cylinder. Submerge other end of hose in container of clean brake fluid.
- Clean area around reservoir cap. Fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Place light pressure on clutch pedal, and open bleeder screw. Maintain pressure until pedal contacts floor. Close bleeder screw while pedal is fully depressed. DO NOT allow pedal to return before bleeder screw is fully closed.
- Check fluid level. Repeat procedure until no air bubbles are observed. Top off brake master cylinder with fluid. If pedal is spongy or transmission is hard to shift, repeat bleeding procedure.
