Test R: No Communication With Module: Notes

  1. Turn ignition off. Ensure NGS tester or scan tool is properly installed and has a good power source. Check if any DTCs exist. If valid DTC or SYSTEM PASS is obtained, go to SYSTEM PRE-CHECK. If SYSTEM PASS is not obtained and/or if no valid DTCs are retrieved, go to next step.
  2. Remove AIR COND (15-amp) fuse. Measure resistance of fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, install new fuse and go back to step  1 .
  3. Connect Breakout Box. Turn ignition on. With voltmeter, measure voltage between Breakout Box pins No. 40 and 60. Turn ignition off. If more than 10 volts is present, go to step  5 . If less than 10 volts is present, go to next step.
  4. Remove AIR COND (15-amp) fuse. Disconnect ABS relay. Measure resistance between Breakout Box pin No. 40 and top terminal of AIR COND fuse holder. If resistance less than 5 ohms is measured, install fuse and connect ABS relay. Go to next step. Measure resistance between Breakout Box pins No. 40 and 60. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, install fuse and go to next step. If neither measure is correct, repair White wire circuit, then return to SYSTEM PRE-CHECK  .
  5. Ensure ECU ground bolt is clean and tight. Measure resistance between ECU ground and Breakout Box pins No. 18, 19, 21 and 60. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black ground wire circuit, then return to SYSTEM PRE-CHECK  .
