Test E: Memory Seat Does Not Operate Properly Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester following manufacturer's instructions. Press any button on remote transmitter. Using NGS tester, enter RAP and FUNCTION TESTS. Select TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. Using transmitter No. 1, compare LAST TIC RECEIVED with data stored in TIC1, TIC2, TIC3, and TIC4 to remote transmitter being used. Using transmitter No. 2, compare LAST TIC RECEIVED with data stored in TIC1, TIC2, TIC3, and TIC4 to remote transmitter being used. If transmitter No. 1 and 2 are identified, go to next step. If transmitters do not match any stored TICs, reprogram transmitters. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Recheck system operation.
  2. Press UNLOCK button on remote transmitter No. 1. If seat moves to memory seat position No. 1, go to next step. If seat does not move to memory seat position No. 1, go to step  7.
  3. Press UNLOCK button on remote transmitter No. 2. If seat does not move to memory seat position No. 2, go to next step. If seat moves to memory seat position No. 2, system is operating properly at this time.
  4. Ensure memory 1 is OFF. Using NGS tester, select SEAT MEMORY SEAT CONTROL from RAP ACTIVE COMMAND list. Turn memory 2 ON. If seat does not move to memory position No. 2, go to next step. If seat moves to memory position No. 2, replace RAP module. See REMOTE ANTI-THEFT PERSONALITY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  5. Disconnect Driver's Seat Module (DSM) 22-pin harness connector C337, located under front of driver's seat. Measure voltage between ground and DSM connector terminal No. 15 (Black/Orange wire). See Fig 1. If 10 volts or less exist, go to next step. If more than 10 volts exist, replace DSM. See DRIVER'S SEAT MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation.
  6. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using NGS tester, turn RAP active command MEMORY 2 off. Disconnect RAP module Gray 22-pin harness connector C338. Measure resistance of Black/Orange wire between RAP module harness connector C338 terminal No. 18 and DSM module harness connector C337 terminal No. 15. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RAP module. See REMOTE ANTI-THEFT PERSONALITY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Orange wire. Recheck system operation.

  7. Ensure memory 1 is OFF. Using NGS tester, select SEAT MEMORY SEAT CONTROL from RAP ACTIVE COMMAND list. Turn memory 1 ON. If seat does not move to memory position No. 1, go to next step. If seat moves to memory position No. 1, replace RAP module. See REMOTE ANTI-THEFT PERSONALITY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation.
  8. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using NGS tester, turn memory 1 OFF. Disconnect DSM 22-pin harness connector C337. Measure voltage between ground and DSM harness connector C337 terminal No. 16 (Brown/Light Green wire). See Fig 1. If more than 10 volts exist, replace DSM module. See DRIVER"S SEAT MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation. If 10 volts or less exist, go to next step.
  9. Using NGS tester, turn RAP active command MEMORY 1 off. Disconnect RAP module Gray 22-pin harness connector C338. Measure resistance of Brown/Light Green wire between RAP module harness connector C338 terminal No. 6 and DSM module harness connector C337 terminal No. 16. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace RAP module. See REMOTE ANTI-THEFT PERSONALITY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and recheck system operation. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Light Green wire. Recheck system operation.
