Test A: Mirrors Inoperative

  1. Remove power mirror control switch to access harness connector. See POWER MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect power mirror control switch harness connector C503. Measure voltage between ground and power mirror control switch connector C503 terminal No. 1 (Orange/Light Green wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Orange/Light Green wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between ground and power mirror control switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire. Retest system operation.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and power mirror control switch harness connector C503 terminals No. 4 (Red wire), 6 (Orange wire), 7 (Dark Blue wire) and 8 (Violet wire). If all resistances are 10 k/ohms or more, go to step  5 if equipped with heated/turn signal mirrors, or go to next step for non-heated/turn signal mirrors. If any resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system operation.
  4. Disconnect passenger's power mirror harness connector C606. Measure resistance of Orange wire between passenger's power mirror harness connector C606 terminal No. 3 and power mirror control switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 6. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace power mirror control switch. See POWER MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Orange wire. Retest system operation.
  5. Disconnect passenger's power mirror harness connector C605. Measure resistance of Orange wire between passenger's power mirror harness connector C605 terminal and power mirror control switch harness connector C503 terminal No. 6. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace power mirror control switch. See POWER MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Orange wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system operation.
