Description & Operation: Introduction

Shift interlock system is a 2-function electro/mechanical system which prevents free movement of gearshift lever. On models with column shift, a shift interlock actuator is mounted on the steering column. On models with floor mounted gearshift lever, a shift interlock actuator is mounted on ignition switch end of interlock cable.
