Test H: No Module/Network Communication - SCP Network

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect PCM connector C415. Measure resistance between C415 terminal No. 16 (Gray/Orange wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Red wire). See Figure and Figure If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C415 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  2. Measure resistance between PCM connector C415 terminal No. 15 (Blue/Black wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 10 (Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C415 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  3. Leave PCM disconnected. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST . If scan tool displays system passed, replace PCM and test system operation. If scan tool does not display system passed, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ABS module connector C840 (ABS only) or C830 (ABS w/ traction control or stability assist). Measure voltage between connector C840 terminal No. 11 (Gray wire) or C830 terminal No. 18 (Gray wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Red wire). See Figure,Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C840 or C830 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  5. Measure resistance between ABS module connector C840 terminal No. 10 (Blue wire) or C830 terminal No. 19 (Blue wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 10 (Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C840 or C830 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  6. Leave ABS module disconnected. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST . If scan tool displays system passed, replace ABS module. If scan tool does not display system passed, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C809. Measure resistance between C809 terminal No. 13 (Gray/Violet wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Red wire). See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C809 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  8. Measure resistance between C809 terminal No. 26 (Blue/White wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 10 (Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C809 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  9. Leave instrument cluster disconnected. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST . If scan tool displays system passed, replace instrument cluster. If scan tool does not display system passed and vehicle is equipped with auxiliary instrument cluster, go to next step. If scan tool does not display system passed and vehicle is not equipped with auxiliary instrument cluster, SCP network is okay. Check scan tool. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
  10. Turn ignition to LOCK position. Disconnect auxiliary instrument cluster connector C853. Measure resistance between C853 terminal No. 13 (Gray/Red wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Red wire). See Figure and Figure If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C853 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  11. Measure resistance between C853 terminal No. 12 (Blue/Red wire) and DLC connector terminal No. 10 (Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in wiring between C853 and DLC connector. Test system operation.
  12. Leave auxiliary instrument cluster disconnected. Turn ignition ON. Perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST . If scan tool displays system passed, replace auxiliary instrument cluster and test system operation. If scan tool does not display system passed, SCP network is okay. Check scan tool. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
