Test A: All Power Windows Inoperative (4-Door)

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If driver's power window control switch LEDs illuminate, verify customer concern. If driver's power window control switch LEDs do not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Test drivers window switch. See DRIVER'S POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH (4-DOOR) . If switch is okay, verify customer concern. If all power windows are still inoperative, go to next step. If switch is faulty, replace switch and test system operation.
  3. Turn ignition OFF. Disconnect drivers power window connector C486. Measure resistance between C486 terminal No. 3 and ground. See Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open or high resistance in Black wire and test system operation.
  4. Disconnect driver's power window connector C487. Turn ignition ON. Measure voltage between C487 terminal No. 14 (Green/Yellow wire) and ground. See Fig 2. If battery voltage exists, wiring is okay, verify customer concern. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Green/Yellow wire and test system operation.
