System Tests: Notes
CAUTION:
Disconnect negative battery cable before disconnecting Generic Electronic Module (GEM) harness connectors. Failure to do so will result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after reconnecting. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE:
Perform all voltage and resistance tests using a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
