Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Prior to removal of module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the scan tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the hydraulic control unit (HCU) dust shield.
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Remove the bolts.

  4. Disconnect the HCU electrical connector.
    • Slide the connector lock rearward.

  5. Remove four brake lines from the HCU and the two rear brake tube connections.

  6. Remove the HCU bracket to frame bolts.

  7. Remove the HCU assembly.
    • Lift the bracket hooks from the frame.

  8. Remove the two remaining brake lines from the HCU.

  9. Remove the HCU bracket.
    • Remove the two bolts.

  10. Remove the stability assist module from the HCU.
