Shift Indicator: Continental

  1. Remove steering column release lever. Remove ignition switch lock cylinder. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Place gearshift lever in "OD" position.
  2. Hang a 3 lb. (1.4 kg) weight from gearshift lever. Rotate thumbwheel, located on right side of steering column, until pointer is centered in appropriate position.
  3. Remove weight from gearshift lever. Move gearshift lever through all ranges to ensure proper operation. Install upper and lower steering column covers. Install ignition switch lock cylinder and steering column release lever. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
