WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.

There are 2 types of Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems used on vehicles manufactured in the U.S.; a driver's door only entry system and an all-door RKE system. System components include door latch actuator(s), power door lock relay, Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module, luggage compartment release solenoid, RKE transmitter(s) and left and right front power door lock switches (all-door system). Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed to any system. The RKE feature will function only when the ignition switch is in LOCK position. Interior lights will illuminate when UNLOCK or PANIC buttons on RKE transmitter are pressed. Lights will remain on for about 20 seconds, or until ignition switch is turned to ON position or LOCK button is pressed. Dome light switch must be set to DOOR position for illumination to operate.
