Removal & Installation (LS)

    CAUTION: Prior to removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the appropriate diagnostic equipment. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the left side scuff plate. Release the retaining clips and remove the left side "A" pillar lower trim panel.
  2. Remove the lower instrument panel finish panel. Remove the courtesy light from the instrument panel finish panel. Position the driver side carpet aside.
  3. Position interior Auxiliary Junction Box (AJB) aside. Remove the nuts (1) and position the AJB aside (2). See Fig 1. Remove the nuts, bolt and position the Front End Module (FEM) aside.
  4. Disconnect the harness connectors (1). See Fig 2. Remove the FEM (2). To install, reverse the removal procedure and tighten FEM bolts. See Fig 3.
