Fuel System Pressure Release

    WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.
    WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running.
    WARNING: Before repairing or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved.
  1. Remove the engine compartment fuse panel cover.
  2. Remove the fuel pump fuse.

  3. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls.
  4. Crank the engine over two more times to remove all fuel pressure.
  5. Turn ignition to the off position and install the fuel pump fuse.
  6. Install the engine compartment fuse panel cover.
