Main Control Valve Body - Assembly: Disassembly
CAUTION:
Handle the main control valve body carefully. If any of the components are damaged, it may become the cause of malfunctions in the transmission.
- Remove the (A) fluid bypass tube bolts and the (B) fluid bypass tube. Remove the O-rings and seals from the fluid bypass tube and discard them.
- Remove the electrical solenoids.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid.
- Remove the 1-2 shift solenoid.
- Remove the 2-3 shift solenoid and the 3-4 shift solenoid.
- Remove the 2-3 shift solenoid bolt.
- Remove the 3-4 shift solenoid bolt.
- Remove the 2-3 shift solenoid and the 3-4 shift solenoid.
- Remove the shift solenoid wiring harness bolt.
- Remove the (A) upper control valve body bolts and the (B) upper control valve body.
- Remove the (A) screw securing the main upper gasket, the upper separator plate, and the upper gasket to the upper control valve body.
- Remove the jet orifice and nut from the upper separator plate.
- Remove the (A) upper gasket, (B) upper separator plate, (C) filter, and the (D) main upper gasket.
- Remove the main control valve body.
- Remove the remaining main control valve body bolts.
- Remove the (A) two screws securing the main gasket, main separator plate, and the premain gasket to the main control valve body.
- Remove the (A) main gasket, (B) main separator plate, and the (C) premain gasket.
- Remove the rubber check balls from the main control valve body.
- Remove the (A) rubber check balls and the (B) oil strainers from the premain control valve body.
- Remove the premain control valve body.
- Remove the (A) oil strainer from the premain control valve body.
- Remove the (A) premain lower gasket, (B) lower separator plate, and the (C) lower gasket.
- Remove the filter from the premain lower gasket.
- Remove the (A) oil strainer from the lower control valve body.
NOTE:
Loosen the upper control valve body bolts evenly and gradually.

Loosen the main control valve body bolts evenly and gradually.
