Removal And Installation
All vehicles
- Move the front seat to the full forward position.
Two-door
- Remove the quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION

Four-door
- Remove the front door scuff plate.
- Remove the rear door scuff plate.
All vehicles
- Use Safety Belt Bolt Bit to loosen the front safety belt lower anchor bolt.
Four-door
- Remove the center body pillar inside lower finish panel.
All vehicles
- Remove the front safety belt upper guide.
- Open the front safety belt upper cover.
- Use Safety Belt Bolt Bit to remove the upper guide bolt.
- Remove the front safety belt upper guide.
- Remove the front safety belt lower guide bolts.
- Use Safety Belt Bolt Bit to remove the bolt from the front safety belt retractor and remove the front safety belt retractor and tongue (611B08) as an assembly.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Do not attempt to remove the front safety belt lower anchor bolt from the front safety belt retractor.
NOTE:
Make sure the front safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.
NOTE:
Ensure that the front passenger safety belt retractor is not stuck in the ALR mode after installation.
NOTE:
Apply Ford Threadlock 262 (E2FZ-19554-B) or equivalent to fasteners when installing safety belt buckle or retractor assemblies.
NOTE:
Perform the Functional Test to ensure that the new retractor operates correctly. For additional information, refer to COMPONENT TEST
