Front Safety Belt Retractor: Removal
4-Door, 5-Door And Wagon
- Detach the safety belt lower anchor.
- Detach the safety belt lower anchor.
- Remove the Torx bolt from the anchor rail.
- Slide the safety belt off the anchor rail.
- Detach the B-pillar upper trim panel.
- Detach the retaining clips.
- Remove the lower anchor bolt and spacer from the safety belt webbing (4-door and Wagon shown).
- Feed the safety belt webbing through the B-pillar upper trim panel.
NOTE: Certain production trim panels have a retaining clip on the front edge. - Detach the upper safety belt anchor.
- Remove the B-pillar lower trim panel.
- Remove the lower trim panel.
- Remove the lower screw.
- Remove the upper screw.
- Detach the front clips.
- Detach the upper clips.
- Detach the waist guide loop.
- Slide the waist guide loop backwards.
- Slide the waist guide loop down.
- Detach the waist guide loop.
- Remove the safety belt retractor.
- Remove the bolt.
- Lift the retractor from its locating tang.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
The screws are located behind the backrest and beneath the seat cushion.

Installation
CAUTION:
Make sure the spacer is correctly located between the floor covering and inner sill.
CAUTION:
Make sure the pin on the B-pillar trim is located correctly into the height adjuster.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the rear end of the anchor rail, on 3-door vehicles, is correctly located before tightening the Torx bolt.
