Lower Intake Manifold: Notes

CAUTION: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

Remove the fuel injection supply manifold. For additional information, refer to FUEL INJECTION SUPPLY MANIFOLD AND FUEL INJECTOR .
Remove the coolant bypass tube. For additional information, refer to BYPASS TUBE .
Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Tighten the oil filter one-half turn after the gasket makes contact with oil filter housing.

Fill the engine with clean engine oil.

Drain the engine oil.
Install a new engine oil filter.
Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
