MATERIAL SPECIFICATION

Item Specification
Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft XG-3) or equivalent ESE-M1C171-A
CAUTION: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.
  1. With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  3. Partially drain the cooling system.
  4. Remove the wiper motor and pivot assembly. For additional information, refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER .
  5. Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY .
  6. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustrations.

  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  8. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
