Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to GENERAL INFORMATION .
  2. Place the range selector lever in the D5 position.
  3. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to BODY SYSTEM - INTERIOR .
  4. Remove the parts in the order indicated in Fig 1.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Transmission Selector Lever Handle Removal Note 

  1. Remove the handle and cover.
    1. Slide the cover down.
    2. Remove the two screws.
    3. Remove the handle and the cover.

Item 2: Transmission Selector Lever Bezel Removal Note 

  1. Remove the shifter bezel out of the way.

  2. Remove the PRNDL indicator bulb.

Item 3: Transmission Brake Shift Interlock Actuator Removal Note 

  1. Disconnect the cable from the lever.
    1. Remove the shift interlock cable from the bracket.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the lever.
