Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the instrument panel side trim.
- Remove the cowl side trim panel.
- Remove the glove box.
- Remove the passenger side lower footwell trim panel.
- Remove the generic electronic module (GEM).
- Remove the two retaining nuts.
- Remove the GEM module and the bracket and position aside.
- Disconnect the powertrain control (PCM) module electrical connectors and remove the PCM.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the PCM electrical connectors do not unlock when installing the GEM module.
