Timing Drive Components: Installation
- Install the timing chain tensioner and the bolts.
- Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

- If necessary, retract the tensioner pad retracting mechanism and insert a retaining pin.

- Rotate the crankshaft so the No. 1 piston is at top dead center (TDC) and the key is at the 12 o'clock position.

- Turn the camshaft gear so that the timing mark is on the bottom of the balance shaft.

- Install the timing chain, crankshaft gear and camshaft gear as an assembly.

- Make sure that the timing marks and the keyways are aligned.

- Remove the retaining pin.

- Install the synchronizer drive gear and the bolt.
- Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
