Acceleration Control

The engine management system electronically operates the throttle of the engine in response to throttle pedal movements initiated by the driver. The accelerator pedal is less sensitive in the four wheel drive (4WD) LOW range than in the 4WD HIGH range. This is to improve vehicle control when operating on very rough terrain. In the event of a system failure, the engine management system provides a "limp home" mode which allows the vehicle to be driven with limited performance.
