Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal
- Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation procedure. For additional information, refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION article.
- Park the windshield wiper arms in the highest position on the windshield.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Remove the 3 retaining clips (2 shown) and the RH cowl panel grille.
- Remove the clip on the RH cowl extension panel.
- Remove the 32 screws and the RH cowl extension panel.
- Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve return tube at the intake manifold and position aside.
- Loosen the bolt disconnect the PCM electrical connector.
- Remove the gasket.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the PCM.
NOTE:
Any PCM replacement will require that ALL customer keys are available to be programmed at the time of installation. PCM replacement DOES NOT require new keys.
