Pump Assembly: Disassembly
- Remove the front pump washer.

- If the O-ring seal was not removed during disassembly, remove and discard the front pump O-ring seal from the pump assembly.

- Remove and discard the front pump seal rings from the stator support.

- Index-mark the pump body to the pump plate assembly.

- Remove the 11 pump plate assembly-to-pump body bolts.

- Push down on the loose pump plate assembly-to-pump body bolts to remove the pump body from the pump plate assembly and remove the 11 bolts.

- Remove the fluid pump gears.

- Remove and discard the pump body outer seal.

- Inspect the inner and the outer pump gears for damage.
- Clean all pump components in solvent.
- Dry the parts with compressed air.
- Inspect the pump gears, faces, gear teeth and mating surfaces for damage or scoring.
- Install a new pump as necessary.

- Inspect the pump body and pump plate thrust surfaces for damage or scoring.

- Inspect the torque converter hub bearing for damage or scoring. Make sure that the bearing rotates smoothly.
