Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair




Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor - 3.5L Ti-VCT

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, REFER to Lifting Points .

2. Remove the nut, bolt and the heat shield.

3. Remove the rubber grommet cover.

4. Remove the bolt and the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor from the engine block.

5. Disconnect the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor electrical connector and remove the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor.

Installation

1. Connect the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.

2. Install the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor and bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

3. Install the rubber grommet cover.

4. Install the heat shield and the nut and bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
