Steering System DTCS
STEERING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IDENTIFICATION
| DTC | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| B1304 | Electronic Power Assisted Steering System | GO to PINPOINT TEST A |
| B1D23 | Overheat Sensor | DIAGNOSE any other PSCM DTCs before diagnosing DTC B1D23:68. If no other DTCs are present, INSPECT the EPAS gear heat shield. INSTALL new as necessary. ADVISE the customer that high ambient temperatures and/or heavy loads on the EPAS system will cause this DTC to set, resulting in higher than usual steering effort. A heavy load is defined as multiple parking lot maneuvers over a short duration of time with low tire pressure or towing for long distances followed by multiple parking maneuvers. |
| C1B00 | Steering Angle Sensor | 2F: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 62: GO to PINPOINT TEST B |
| C200B | Steering Shaft Torque Sensor 1 | 2F: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 61: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 62: GO to PINPOINT TEST B |
| P07AE | Transmission Friction Element G Performance/Stuck Off | GO to PINPOINT TEST F |
| U0001 | High Speed CAN Communications Bus | Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the high-speed controller area network (HS-CAN) bus. |
| U0100 | Lost Communication with ECM/PCM A | CARRY OUT a self-test of the PCM. If the scan tool indicates that the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the network communication concern. If PCM DTCs are present, REFER to the ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) to diagnose the PCM. |
| U0121 | Lost Communication with the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module | CARRY OUT an ABS module self-test. If the scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to DIAGNOSE the network communication concern. If ABS module DTCs are present, REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL to DIAGNOSE the ABS system fault. |
| U0140 | Lost Communication With Body Control Module | CARRY OUT a self-test of the BCM module. If the scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the network communication concern. BCM module DTCs are present, REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES to diagnose the BCM system fault. |
| U0151 | Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module | CARRY OUT a self-test of the RCM. If the scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose the network communication concern. If RCM DTCs are present, REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM to diagnose the SRS fault. |
| U0155 | Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module | CARRY OUT a self-test of the IPC module. If the scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to DIAGNOSE the network communication concern. If IPC module DTCs are present, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION to DIAGNOSE the IPC system fault. |
| U0401 | Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A | RETRIEVE and RECORD all PCM DTCs. REFER to the ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) to diagnose the engine speed or vehicle speed concern. |
| U2011 | Motor | 49: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 61: GO to PINPOINT TEST B |
| U2100 | Initial Configuration Not Complete | CHECK the vehicle history for recent service actions related to this module. If there have been recent service actions with this module, REPEAT the PMI procedure as directed by the scan tool or CONFIGURE the PSCM using vehicle as-built data. If there have been no recent service actions, INSTALL a new steering gear to correct the failure to retain configuration data. |
| U3000 | Control Module | 41: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 46: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 49: GO to PINPOINT TEST B 96: INSTALL a new EPAS steering gear. REFER to POWER STEERING |
| U3003 | Battery Voltage | 16: GO to PINPOINT TEST A 17: GO to PINPOINT TEST A 68: GO to PINPOINT TEST A |
