Steering Gear: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the front subframe. Refer to: Front Subframe .
- 4.NOTE: Install new O-ring seals any time the lines are disconnected from the steering gear or a fluid leak may occur.

Remove the steering line clamp plate-to-steering gear bolt.Torque: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

Position aside the steering line clamp plate.
- 3.
Disconnect the power steering lines. Discard the O-ring seals.

- 5.NOTE: Do not use a hammer to separate the outer tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle or damage to the wheel knuckle may result.NOTE: Use care when installing the tie rod separator or damage to the outer tie-rod end boot may occur.
On both sides. Remove and discard the outer tie rod end nut and separate the outer tie rod end from the wheel knuckle. Use the General Equipment: Tie Rod End Remover
Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
