| C1B00:08 | Steering Angle Sensor: Bus Signal / Message Failure | This DTC sets when the SCCM does not receive any messages from the steering angle sensor. This can be due to a steering wheel rotation sensor failure, circuit failure or excessive load on the CAN. SET the ignition to OFF. REMOVE the steering wheel rotation sensor. REFER to Steering Wheel Rotation Sensor in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . INSPECT the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical connector and the SCCM electrical connector for corrosion, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals. INSTALL new components as necessary. If the electrical connectors are OK, INSTALL the steering wheel rotation sensor, REFER to Steering Wheel Rotation Sensor in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . SET the Ignition to ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CLEAR the SCCM DTCs. DRIVE the vehicle and make at least 1 left turn and 1 right turn. Using a diagnostic scan tool, CARRY OUT the SCCM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new steering wheel rotation sensor. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . |
