This DTC sets in a module that is reporting a missing or invalid message from another module on the data bus. The module that reports the fault is not the problem module. Do not install a new RCM as part of the repair unless directed to do so in a pinpoint test. CHECK for additional RCM and BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). DIAGNOSE and REPAIR any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are retrieved. For RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to the RCM DTC Chart. | U0557:82 | Invalid Data Received From Accessory Protocol Interface Module: No Sub Type Information | CLEAR the RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self test. If DTC U0557:82 returns, REVIEW the other RCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) retrieved. If RCM DTC U0140:00 is retrieved along with U0557:82, REFER to: Pinpoint Test - DTC: AA . If RCM DTC U0155:00 is retrieved along with U0557:82, REFER to: Pinpoint Test - DTC: AC . If neither U0140:00 or U0155:00 is retrieved during the RCM self-test, CARRY OUT a BCM self-test and diagnose any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are retrieved. Refer to: Body Control Module (BCM) . If no BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are retrieved, CARRY OUT an IPC self-test and DIAGNOSE any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are retrieved.
