Selector Lever Cable: Removal
- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist.

- Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.
- Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual control lever.
- Remove the air cleaner.

- Remove the bolt, unclip the selector lever cable retainer and disconnect the cable from the bracket.
- Remove the bolts and position the brake fluid reservoir aside.
- Detach the selector lever cable from the retainers.
- Remove the retainers and position the exhaust heat shield to the rear.
- Detach the selector lever cable from the retainer.
- Remove the floor console.

- Using a screwdriver, pry the selector lever cable end from the selector lever.
- Remove the bolt, unclip the selector lever retainer and disconnect the cable from the selector lever.
- Remove the bolts and the instrument panel bracket.
- Position the carpet aside and disconnect the HVAC hose.
- Position the carpet aside and remove the selector lever cable grommet nuts.
- Remove the selector lever cable.
NOTE:
Do not pull or pry on the selector lever cable or the selector lever cable end may be damaged. Use a screwdriver and turn the screwdriver as shown in illustration to pry the cable end off the post as close to the post as possible.
