External Controls - Overview

The shift by wire system uses a rotary dial GSM to interface with the TCM to select gear positions.

The steering wheel has paddle switches (SelectShift™ equipped) which allow the driver to manually shift the transmission when S mode is selected on the rotary dial.

The shift by wire system also includes a brake shift interlock that will not allow the transmission to shift out of P unless the brake pedal is applied.
