Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Removal

NOTE: During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

Right side 

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover retainers and then remove the engine appearance cover.

  2. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

  3. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plugs.
    NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    1. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug retainers.
    2. Remove the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    Left side 

  4. Remove the engine appearance cover retainers and then remove the engine appearance cover.

  5. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
