Fuel Tank-To-Pump System
Diesel fuel is drawn from the fuel tank by an engine mounted mechanical fuel pump. This pump is driven by an eccentric cam mounted on the crankshaft and puts out about 5 1/2-6 1/2 psi to the injection pump. A small screen type filter is located in the fuel tank at the pickup. Diesel fuel arrives at the center inlet fitting on the injection pump after leaving the filter. A fuel return line is provided to return any excess fuel to the tank.
