Ignition Coil Resistance

  1. Remove coil connectors and secondary coil wire. In test "A", use high ohmmeter scale. Resistance value should be very high (infinite). See Fig 1. If reading is not infinite, replace coil.
  2. In test "B", use low ohmmeter scale. Reading should be very low (near zero ohms). If reading is not near zero ohms, replace coil. In test "C", use high ohmmeter scale. If no continuity exists, replace coil.
