Door Module With Window Motor

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door handle using Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01). Remove door handle bezel. Remove window switch assembly. See WINDOW SWITCH  .
  2. Remove assist strap and armrest (if equipped). Remove door trim plate screws and trim plate. Remove door trim outer panel screws and door trim outer panel (if equipped) by pulling retainers away from door. Remove door trim inner panel screws and inner panel. Disconnect remote control-to-door trim panel bolts (if equipped). Lay remote control aside.
  3. Remove speaker from door. Disconnect electrical connector from door speaker. Remove water dam by pulling it back from door assembly. Lower window completely. Remove inner and outer weatherstrip. Remove bolt securing front run channel to door assembly. Remove front run channel. Raise window about half way to gain access to nuts securing window to sash. Nuts can be accessed through holes in door module. Remove window nuts and window.
  4. Remove bolt securing rear run channel to door assembly. Remove rear run channel. Remove fastener from rear edge of inside door handle. Slide inside door handle forward and remove handle from door module. Remove lock rods from door module. Disconnect electrical connectors from door module. Drill out door module-to-door assembly rivets. Remove door module.
  5. Remove motor-to-regulator attaching screws/rivets, and remove motor from regulator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate motor drive dear and regulator sector teeth. Tighten all nuts and bolts to 97 INCH lbs. (11 N.m).
